parent as healer

From preventative medicine to first aid moments, we’ll explore simple ways to introduce safe, nourishing herbs into your child’s daily life.  We’ll talk plants, their uses, and how to give your children a deep experience with the medicinal plants that grow all around us.  Nettles, catnip, fennel, yarrow, and arnica are just some of the plants we’ll cover.  Come with your questions and we’ll discuss how to keep our children in a state of health, rather than an absence of illness.

First class in the Taproot Medicine Summer Series!  From garden to kitchen, we'll learn how to make medicinal plants into potent medicine.  We'll discuss solvents for extraction, when to harvest specific plant parts, how the moon plays her part in the alchemical process, and why this is a reciprocal relationship for plant and medicine maker.  Some knowledge of medicinal herbs is helpful, not required.  You'll go home with bottles of medicinal syrup, vinegar, fresh herb salts, and a full heart.
